Washburn University Bod Talk
On this day, 65 years ago, the Supreme Court of the United States ruled that racial segregation in public schools is unconstitutional. We are so proud of the role Washburn University and Washburn University School of Law alumni played in this landmark case.
"We conclude that in the field of public education the doctrine of 'separate but equal' has no place. Separate educational facilities are inherently unequal."
- Brown v. Board of Education of Topeka Supreme Court decision delivered by Chief Justice Earl Warren
See Washburn Law Dean Carla Pratt and The Hon. Paul Brady, jd '53, nephew of plaintiff Lucinda Todd, talk about the importance of this decision and the work Washburn alumni did to prepare this case.
