    Washburn Tech’s Recycled Rides program is getting more mileage thanks, in part, to a donation from State Farm Insurance to the Washburn University Foundation.     Washburn Tech is adding more students and services in the 2013-2014 school year. Preliminary numbers indicate a 20 percent increase in enrollment for the upcoming semester, which begins on Monday, August 12th.     A recent Washburn Tech graduate has earned the distinction of second best cabinetmaker in America. Brett Sidesinger, of Topeka, placed second in the WorldSkills Cabinetmaking Qualifying Trial last week in Las Vegas, Nevada. The winner of the competition will compete in the 2015 WorldSkills competition in Brazil. As runner-up, Sidesinger will take his place if he is unable to attend.     Bret Sidesinger of Topeka, will compete in the WorldSkills Cabinetmaking Qualifying Trial July 24-27 in Las Vegas, Nev. Sidesinger, a 2013 graduate of Washburn Tech’s cabinet and millwork program, qualified after earning a top score at SkillsUSA national championships in June.     David Marstall of Topeka, who is a student in Washburn Tech’s auto collision repair program and a member of the Marine Corps Reserve, is the recipient of two grants given by industry. He is a winner of the 3M Hire Our Heroes grant, as well as an Alcoa Aluminum Repair Training grant.
