         Topeka, Kan. – The Kansas Society of Professional Engineers (KSPE), the Washburn University mathematics and statistics department, and the Washburn University education department are hosting the annual MATHCOUNTS Topeka regional competition Saturday, Feb. 2 on the Washburn University campus.          Topeka, Kan. - Dr. Dyan Watson will visit Washburn University as a Fink Visiting Professor Feb. 4–5, 2019. Watson will present a public lecture entitled “Creating Culturally Responsive Classrooms” Monday, Feb. 4 beginning at 7 p.m. in Washburn A/B room of the Memorial Union on the Washburn University campus.          Topeka, Kan. – Washburn University police officer Terence “Charles” Minton was named VFW Law Enforcement Officer of the Year by VFW Philip Billard Post #1650.
