         Topeka, Kan. – Washburn University’s mass media department is celebrating their 25th anniversary with a banquet and keynote speaker. The banquet begins 6 p.m. Thursday, April 11 in Washburn A/B in Memorial Union on Washburn’s campus. Tickets are free for students and $20 for mass media alumni and friends.          Topeka, Kan. – Dr. Eva Mroczek will deliver her lecture ‘Out of the Cave: Manuscript Discoveries and New Biblical Pasts” as part of the Thomas L. King Lecture in Religious Studies series.          Topeka, Kan. – Harold Holzer will present “Lincoln and 150 Years of Fake News” during Washburn University’s annual Harman Lincoln Lecture.          In just under a month, we’re due to see the first total eclipse of the sun visible from the continental United States since the 1970’s and those (in 1970 and 1979) were each only visible in a small sliver of the country.  The eclipse which will take place August 21 will be visible across 14 states including much of the Midwest.     While the eclipse won’t quite reach totality in Topeka, it will still be an impressive sight with noticeable darkening ofmore...
