    Washburn University names Shermoen family as “Family of the Year”
         Washburn University named the Shermoen family as the “Family of the Year” today, Sept. 22, during halftime of the Family Day football game. This designation honors the Shermoens’ dedication to, support of and enthusiasm for the university.                   The Spring Career Fair at Washburn University is drawing the strongest response from employers in years, according to Kent McAnally, Washburn’s director of career services.            “This year we’ve got 139 organizations registered to attend,” McAnally said.  “That’s the largest number I’ve seen in my ten years with the university.”   more...
