    65 Years after Brown v Board of Education

    WHAT: Ta-Nehisi (Pronounced -- Tah-Nuh-Hah-See) Coates will be presenting a public lecture at Washburn University in a program co-sponsored by Washburn and the Brown versus Board of Education Historic Site. Coates is a distinguished writer in residence at NYU's Arthur L.     Washburn Tech’s Recycled Rides program will hand over the keys to a brighter future at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 30, in Building K on the Washburn Tech campus at 5724 SW Huntoon St. Two refurbished vehicles will be presented to local families or organizations in need.     Washburn Tech's annual Car Show is Friday, May 3.

    Washburn Tech will host its 20th annual Car Show from 9 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. on Friday, May 3 at 5724 SW Huntoon St. The entry fee is $20 both prior to the event and on the day of the show, which is free to the public.Car entries will be divided into five classes: custom/low riders, antique cars and trucks, muscle cars, motorcycles and special interest.
