    Washburn Tech's annual Car Show is Friday, May 3.

    Washburn Tech will host its 20th annual Car Show from 9 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. on Friday, May 3 at 5724 SW Huntoon St. The entry fee is $20 both prior to the event and on the day of the show, which is free to the public.Car entries will be divided into five classes: custom/low riders, antique cars and trucks, muscle cars, motorcycles and special interest.          Topeka, Kan. –More than a 100 Washburn University students will present at Apeiron, an annual campus-wide forum, Friday, April 19. The event begins at 10:00 a.m. In its 17th year, Apeiron occurs at several locations on campus: the Washburn Room of the Memorial Union for poster presentations, the Mulvane Art Museum for fine arts presentations, and Henderson Learning Resource Center for oral presentations.          Topeka, Kan. – Washburn University will be hosting a transgender activist as part of a series of events centering on the LGBTQ+ community.  Jennicet Gutierrez is a transgender Latina organizer and advocate for transgender and immigrant rights. She will be presenting a lecture entitled “Trans Existence as an Act of Resistance” on Monday, April 15 at 12:30 p.m. in the Washburn Room of the Memorial Union.          Topeka, Kan. – Washburn University Band will perform their annual spring concert Monday, April 15 at 7:30 p.m. in White Concert Hall. The performance is free and open to the public. The band will perform Ticheli’s Amazing Grace, Bernstein’s West Side Story, Anderson’s Sandpaper Ballet and other works by Holst, Sousa and more.
