    2019 Dancing Blues: Division II National Champions
         Topeka, Kan. – The Washburn University Dancing Blues brought three national championship trophies home this past weekend. The dance team earned the overall Division II National Championship title in the national American Dance/Drill Team competition. They also placed first in both the jazz and hip-hop categories.          Topeka, Kan. – Dr. Alexandra Klales, assistant professor of forensic anthropology at Washburn University, recently earned her American Board of Forensic Anthropology (ABFA) diplomate certification. As of 2018, there were only 119 ABFA board certified forensic anthropologists.          Topeka, Kan.—The Washburn University Leadership Institute will host a record-number 43 high school and college teams for the 2019 Leadership Challenge EventTM (LCETM) Feb. 28 and March 1.          Topeka, Kan. – More than 210 middle school and high school students from Topeka and surrounding communities will present on “Triumph and Tragedy in History” at Washburn University on Saturday, Feb. 23 in the District 3 History Day competition.
