It’s Success Week at Washburn

Success Week for undergraduate students is designated as the five week days preceding the first day of scheduled final examinations each Fall and Spring semester. Success Week is intended to provide students ample opportunity to prepare for final examinations.

This is designed to be a period of review of material from the semester in anticipation of next week’s final exams.

There are a number of special events through the week to help students de-stress as they prepare for finals including:

  At the Mabee Library on Sunday at 6 p.m.  Free pizza and energy drinks to help with studying.

Carols & Cocoa

      -- Holiday music and free hot cocoa in the Memorial Union Underground on Thursday brom noon until 2 p.m.

Taco Time

      -- At the Alpha Phi Sorority House on Friday at 6 p.m.  A taco bar for all on a first come, first served basis

Get Energized

     -- At the Mabee Library on Sunday at 6 p.m.  Free pizza and energy drinks to help with studying.

3:00 p.m.  – Neese Gray Theatre -- Free & Open to the Public

Theatre Student Showcase

Join Washburn's theatre department for their end-of-semester student showcase! Student performances will include dance, voice, and acting. The showcase is Friday, Dec. 7 at 3 p.m. in the Neese Gray Theatre in Garvey. Light refreshments will be available for attendees. The showcase is free and open to the public.

Holiday Vespers Concert

The Washburn University music department will host their annual Holiday Vespers concert Sunday, Dec. 9. Washburn University choir, singers, and orchestra will celebrate the holiday season with traditional songs and melodies. The public is welcome and donations are requested.

Operation Fleece Navidad

The Kinesiology Department is holding their 6th annual Operation Fleece Navidad winter clothing drive to collect gently used outerwear. Items gratefully accepted include jackets, hoodies, sweatpants, coats, hats, scarves, gloves and socks. Donations go to men, women and children at the Topeka Rescue Mission. Nearly 2,000 items have been donated in the last five years. Donations can be brought to the donation box outside the kinesiology department in Petro Center 201, or you can email kines@washburn.edu to make arrangements to pick up your donation elsewhere on campus.
