English Department Faculty Reading

Faculty members in the English department will read from their published works and discuss their research at this semi-annual faculty spotlight. Melanie Burdick, Louise Krug and Kara Kendall-Morwick will present April 18 at 3 p.m. in the Blair Room of the LLC. This event is free and open to the public.

Washburn hosts Apeiron – the annual student showcase

Students show off their research, scholarship, creative activities, and community engagement activities

More than 100 students will present at Apeiron this Friday, April 19. Apeiron is an opportunity for students to show off their projects and research through fine arts presentations, oral presentations and poster presentations. These events are free and open to the public. 3:45 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.            Poster Session and Reception, Memorial Union, Washburn Room A

In Apeiron tradition, a professor will conclude the oral presentations. John Hunter, Professor Emeritus of Theatre, will give the last lecture this year in Washburn B of the Union. His presentation is titled “Volunteer Leadership in Your Community.”

Traffic Stops 101 – What to Expect When You’re Pulled Over by Law Enforcement

Guest speakers from the Washburn Police Department, Shawnee County Sheriff's Office, and Kansas Highway Patrol will discuss procedures for traffic stops including how you should react. Following the presentations will be a Q&A where addressing the community's questions and concerns. This event is open to the public. The event is sponsored by Washburn’s Criminal Justice Student Association.
