Washburn University President Jerry Farley announces the appointment of
Marc B. Fried as university legal counsel.
Fried comes to Washburn from St. Louis (Mo.) Community College, where he
served as general counsel. Fried’s previous posts have included
associate at Armstrong Teasdale LLP and county counselor and first
assistant in the prosecuting attorney’s office, Jefferson County, Mo.
“We are delighted a person with this level of background and talent
would choose to serve at Washburn University,” said Jerry B. Farley,
president of Washburn.
He received a juris doctor from the Washington University School of Law
and a bachelor of science in accounting and business administration from
the University of Kansas.
Fried’s community involvement includes Leadership St. Louis, co-host of
Bridges Across Racial Polarization group and president of the Kirkwood
(Mo.) Lions Club.
Fried and his wife, Camille, grew up in the Shawnee Mission area and met
at the University of Kansas.
He will begin his new position June 1.
