Topeka, KS – A sea of caps and gowns will flood Washburn University’s campus Saturday, May 14, as more than 900 candidates for graduation participate in commencement ceremonies.
“This is one of my favorite times of the year,” said Jerry Farley, Washburn University president. “Washburn University faculty and staff dedicate themselves to helping our students prepare for their chosen professions and it is truly a joy to help our graduates celebrate their accomplishments.”
Washburn University will host four ceremonies to honor the 838 Washburn University and 103 Washburn University School of Law candidates for spring and summer 2016 graduation throughout the day. Washburn Tech held a ceremony for its 500 graduates in Lee Arena on Thursday evening, May 12.
9:30 a.m. - School of Applied Studies Commencement – Lee Arena
12:30 p.m. - College of Arts and Sciences Commencement - Lee Arena
3:30 p.m. - School of Business and School of Nursing Commencement - Lee Arena
6:30 p.m. - School of Law Commencement - Lee Arena
Events are open to the public and no tickets are required. Doors open to the public one hour before each ceremony and each ceremony is expected to last approximately 90 minutes. Parking is free on campus. The closest lots are those surrounding Petro Allied Health Center. Parking for persons with disabilities is located south of Petro in Lot 5.
