Media Advisory: Washburn Law professor David Rubenstein will present "Immigration Exceptionalism" today at 5 p.m.

WHAT: Constitution Day is today, Monday, Sept. 17. In observation, Washburn University School of Law professor Davis Rubenstein will be discussing immigration laws and if they should receive special constitutional treatment.  

In immigration cases, the Supreme Court’s normal rules of constitutional adjudication do not always apply. Should these laws receive special treatment for some purposes (e.g., federalism) but not others (e.g., rights)? Rubenstein will explore the transition between the Obama and Trump administrations and the stakes of these and related questions - both legally and politically.

This lecture is free and is open to the public.
