Media Advisory: Mulvane Art Museum Welcomes “Novel Art - Narrative Paintings” Exhibition Friday, May 24

WHAT: Washburn University’s Mulvane Art Museum presents a new exhibition titled “Novel Art – Narrative Painting” by Michael Young and Ian Young beginning Friday, May 24. The exhibition features 22 paintings from the private collection of Kansas City collector Fred Whitehead. Michael Young and Ian Young, father and son, each created paintings based on famous literary works: “100 Years of Solitude” by Gabriel Garcia Marquez and “Brave New World” by Aldous Huxley. Both series were created at the request of the collector. Admission is free.

WHEN: May 24, 2019 – September 28, 2019;  During regular operating hours: Tuesday 10 a.m. – 7 p.m., Wednesday – Friday 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., Saturday 1 p.m. – 4 p.m., closed Sunday and Monday

WHERE: Washburn University – The Mulvane Art Museum, the Adeline Peers Galleries (entrance level)
