         Washburn University’s Leadership Institute has been awarded a grant from the Topeka Community Foundation to launch a Washburn University High School Leadership Academy. The academy is a collaborative initiative between Washburn University and the Greater Topeka Chamber of Commerce to develop leadership skills in high school students and create a greater awareness about ways they can become involved in influencing positive change in their communities.     Dr. JuliAnn Mazachek
         Dr. JuliAnn Mazachek will be Washburn University’s interim vice president of academic affairs.  As such she will serve as the university’s chief academic officer and oversee all of the educational activities of the university.  Mazachek is currently the president of the Washburn University Foundation.  Mazachek will replace Dr. Randy Pembrook who recently accepted the job as chancellor at Southern Illinois University’s Edwardsville Campus.  more...

         Washburn University School of Business has maintained its business accreditation by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB-International).
