    Kansas Silent Film Festival kicks off tonight (Feburary 25, 2017) at Washburn University

       In its 21st year, the Kansas Silent Film Festival's mission is to provide an entertaining and educational forum for silent films and it's one of the few free film festivals to do so. Every year, on the last weekend in February, from Friday night through Saturday night, come rain or snow or shine, the festival showcases films from the silent era with live musical accompaniment.          Topeka, Kan. – Washburn University will host an Indian classical music concert this Sunday, Feb. 26 at 2:30 p.m. in White Concert Hall. Featured in the concert are Purnaprajna Bangere playing the violin and Shivanand Murthy playing the mridangam, a double-headed drum.          Topeka, Kan. – Washburn University concluded their Toys for Tots collection campaign on Thursday with a record number of toys collected. Over a five week collection period, 607 toys were donated, along with $1775 in monetary donations.
