         The Washburn University Law Clinic will be offering a Veterans Legal Assistance Clinic for veterans and other service-connected individuals on Saturday, February 25, 2017, from 10 a.m. to noon. One portion of the event focuses on preparing free wills, living wills, and durable powers of attorney, while another portion concentrates on providing representation for the expungement of convictions.     Media are invited to the presentation of a sizable check by Washburn Student Bar Association (WSBA) Barristers' Ball Chair Sarah Morrison and Dean Thomas J. Romig to Topeka Rescue Mission Executive Director Barry Feaker. The Barristers' Ball is an annual event organized by WSBA, which solicits donations from local vendors, law school alumni, and faculty.          Washburn University School of Law announces that almost 91 percent of its graduates who took the Kansas Bar exam for the first time in July passed.  Washburn Law graduates exceeded the Kansas average pass rate by 6.6 percentage points, scoring 90.7 percent versus the 84.1 percent overall state average for all first-time takers.
