Washburn University & Forge take over The Burger Stand at College Hill, College Hill Apartments and Monsoon Express to kickoff the start of the new school year!
Vendors will include Josey Baking Co., Shana Cake - Topeka, nadabottle, Moburts, Happy Basset Brewing Company, Boulevard Brewing Company.

The Little Event – A Washburn Day of Service
Who: The Students of Washburn and friends
Time: Check-in starts at 8:00 am, with volunteers arriving back on campus around Noon
How: Volunteers will come to campus at 8:00 am, sign in, get a t-shirt, a bottle of water, and maybe a yummy donut, get into service groups and then will hop on a bus and go to a service site. These sites include Topeka organizations such as Harvester, Boys & Girls Club, The American Red Cross, and other stellar organizations. Volunteers will then arrive back at campus around noon and receive a yummy hot dog and chips!

School of Nursing “Light the Lamp” ceremony
The Light the Lamp Ceremony features the students’ recitation of an oath, receipt of a commemorative pin, an address by an eminent role model, and a reception for students and invited guests. The specially designed pin serves as a visual reminder of the students’ oath and commitment to provide compassionate and high-quality care through their professional nursing careers. Students’ families and friends are invited to attend this event

Gender Brown Bag
Join for the first Gender Brown Bag of the semester, Monday, Aug. 28 at noon in the Cottonwood Room in Memorial Union. This series is intended to provide informal opportunities to share research and discuss topics pertaining to gender. Everyone is welcome, and attendees are free to bring their lunch.
