06/13/17 09:06 am CDT

Topeka, Kan. – The Washburn University theatre department will perform “Seascape” by Edward Albee in the Georgia Neese Gray Theatre on Washburn's campus. The show will run June 16, 17, 23, 24, and 25. The first four shows begin at 7:30 p.m. and the show on June 25 begins at 2:00 p.m. The show costs $8 for general admission. Washburn students, faculty, and staff can attend for free with a Washburn University ID.

“Seascape” is a two act play about communication and evolution in interpersonal relationships. The play focuses on two couples, one human and one lizard, both at a crossroads in their lives. The couples meet on a beach and spend time together while working through their own conflicts. Albee, who also wrote the acclaimed play “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?,” was an American playwright in the 20th century. His works often focus on interpersonal relationships and marriage.
