get? Washburn University’s Family Day. The community is invited to join
Washburn faculty, staff and students and their families at Family Day,
Saturday, Sept. 20, at Washburn University.
Here's the schedule:
9 a.m. to 5 p.m. - The Ichabod Shop is open, lower level,
Memorial Union. The annual Family Day Sale means big deals for you. Buy
one get one *half price on Washburn-imprinted items. Receive a free
Washburn water bottle with purchase of $75 or more. *Valid in store
only; half price on equal or lower-priced item; not valid with other
10 a.m. to noon - Storytime and face painting at Mabee Library
10 a.m. to noon - School of Nursing 40th Anniversary Open House,
McPherson Booster Room, Petro Allied Health Center.
11 a.m. to 1 p.m. - Washburn Village 10th Anniversary Open House,
Washburn Village Commons.
11 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. - Inflatable games and carnival style games
begin on the Memorial Union lawn.
11 a.m. to 2 p.m. - School of Nursing tailgate, north side of
Yager Stadium at Moore Bowl. Student at the COACH mobile clinic, parked
near Carnegie Hall, will provide free health screenings for blood
glucose, cholesterol and blood pressure.
11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. - Faculty and Staff Family Day Picnic is
underway in the Washburn Room.
12:30 p.m. - Washburn Alumni Association tailgate, north side of
Yager Stadium at Moore Bowl. Free to dues-paid members; $5 per person
for non-members; free for children 12 and younger.
1-4 p.m. - ArtLab and Mulvane Art Museum are open. The Mulvane's
current exhibits include "Washburn University Art Department Alumni
Exhibit," "Old Walks and New" and "Spirit of the Walk." Admission always
1:45 p.m. - Pre-game show begins, Yager Stadium at Moore Bowl.
2:07 p.m. - Your Ichabods take on Pittsburg State University,
Yager Satdium at Moore Bowl.
The game is the MIAA TV Game of the Week. Can't be there, watch the
game on Cox 22 in Topeka.
The Washburn Family of the Year will be recognized at half-time.
