The Spring Career Fair at Washburn University is drawing the strongest response from employers in years, according to Kent McAnally, Washburn’s director of career services.
“This year we’ve got 139 organizations registered to attend,” McAnally said. “That’s the largest number I’ve seen in my ten years with the university.”
McAnally credits a strong job market along with a good reputation created by Washburn University students and graduates.
“We send our students out into the world with a good work ethic and they are well prepared to be strong contributors in many employment settings,” he said.
But Washburn students aren’t the only ones who can benefit from the job fair. The event is open to the public and all are welcome to attend.
“If you’re planning to come, dress for the job you want to land and bring plenty of copies of your resume,” McAnally said.
The job fair will take place on Wednesday, February 17 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. in Lee Arena on the Washburn campus. Participants should enter from the Washburn Ave side of the campus and park in the lot next to Lee Arena.
