Rachel Menager, BSN, is the daughter of Henri and Mona Menager of Auburn. She was a member and secretary of Topeka Black Nurses Association, a member of the University Honors program and completed a research project earning a Washburn Transformational Experience scholarly endeavors medal. She also traveled to Costa Rica in January 2015 and provided community health screenings with fellow Washburn nursing students, for which she earned a Washburn Transformational Experience international education medal.

Taryn Marie Smith, MSN (family nurse practitioner), is mother of Isaiah Smith, 8, and daughter of Darin Hogan and Carla Hogan, all of Neosho Rapids. Smith is a member of Sigma Theta Tau nursing honor society and recipient of the Richard Phillip Hanlon Memorial Scholarship and the Washburn University Nurse Traineeship Grant.

Sarah Dudte, BSN, is the daughter of Tim and Karen Dudte of Newton. She also holds a bachelor’s in athletic training from Kansas State University.

Kellie DeMill, BSN, is the daughter of Laura Peterson of Topeka, Kansas and Duane DeMill of Manti, Utah. She was inducted into Sigma Theta Tau nursing honor society and received the Sibberson Award, the highest honor bestowed upon undergraduates by Washburn University. The award recognizes the most deserving student selected from among the highest-ranking members of the senior class in the undergraduate program at Washburn University. DeMill plans to work as an oncology nurse at a local hospital and also wants to work on a per diem basis as a charge nurse at a nursing home. She intends to continue her education in the future and pursue a doctoral degree in nursing practice.

While she was a nursing student, Kellie worked as a CNA/PCT in nursing homes and at a local hospital. She also was involved in several community outreach experiences, including Family Night at Shawnee Heights Middle School where she helped provide health education and health screenings. She participated with the School of Nursing in blood pressure and blood glucose checks at a local Wal-Mart and the YMCA. She also went with the School of Nursing’s mobile health unit, C.O.A.C.H, to Topeka’s El Centro, and provided health screenings and health education. As part of her community service experience, she also went to Let’s Help and volunteered during lunch, helping wash tables and doing blood pressure checks.

DeMill also has been involved in several research projects during nursing school including a community needs assessment project. In that project, Kellie and the other members of her group identified a health need for a population at the Topeka Rescue Mission and formulated a plan to address it. DeMill was the recipient of the F. Ann Millner Presidential Academic Scholarship.

Tamra L. Dennis-DeLong, BSN, is married to Jeremy DeLong of Topeka and is the daughter of Lester Dennis and Jacquelyn Dennis of Belgrade, Montana and Martha Griffith and Richard Griffith of Topeka.

Ashley Altenhofen, BSN, is the daughter of Dean and Mary Altenhofen of Westmoreland, Kansas. While at Washburn, Altenhofen worked in the President’s Office as an administrative aide and at St. Francis Hospital as a student nurse technician. She was a student ambassador and Summer Orientation Counselor for the Office of Admissions, participated in the Leadership Institute, Leadership Challenge Event, Washburn’s Big Event: Bods Into the Streets and Bod Squad. She was a Who’s Who Among American College and University Students recipient, a member of Mortar Board honor society, Alpha Lambda Delta honor society and NoNoSo, the Washburn women’s honorary society.

Jennifer K. Moore, MSN (clinical nurse leadership), wife of James Moore of Westmoreland, Kansas and daughter of Bonnie Edwards and Robert Edwards of Olsburg. Moore is a member of Sigma Theta Tau nursing honor society and Phi Kappa Phi honor society.

LINCOLN, NEBRASKA:
Rachel Hansen, BSN, is the daughter of John W. and Janet Hansen of Lincoln, Nebraska. Hansen was a member of the Washburn University women’s soccer team (2010-2014) and was named to the MIAA Academic Honor Roll each year she played soccer. She was also on the Dean’s list.

REDMOND, WASHINGTON:
Grace Cramer, BSN, is the daughter of Steven and Caroline Cramer of Redmond, Washington. She participated in several organizations on campus including To Write Love on Her Arms and Ichtus, participated in the TADD Program, was a member of President’s and Dean’s honor rolls and completed an International Washburn Transformational experience.
