Media Advisory: Washburn University Police Department Celebrates 20 Years

WHAT: The Washburn University Police Department is celebrating their 20th year as a certified law enforcement agency with an open house.

WHEN: 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., August 9, 2017

WHERE: Washburn University Police Department, Morgan Hall
1700 SW College Ave., Topeka, KS 66621

WHO: Washburn University Police Department staff, faculty, staff

DETAILS: Chris Enos, Director of University Police, will be available for comment beginning at 10:30 a.m. on August 9.

WUPD was established in 1996 in response to a need to make access to law enforcement more timely and practical for individuals on campus.

The Washburn University Police Department is made up of two command staff, three sergeants, fifteen certified law enforcement officers, ten patrol officers, seven part time certified law enforcement officers, four communications specialists, one office assistant, and eleven cadets.
