Exploring work turns into fun for kids attending Washburn Tech’s Summer Camp. Registration is now open for two sessions, scheduled in June, that are designed to excite and inspire young minds as they explore their interests and even consider future career choices.
Campers choose from a dozen career explorations in the areas of construction, health care, human services, technology and transportation. One day, campers might design colors of a vehicle and then paint one of the panels. The next day, they might operate a mini-excavator or prepare a tasty snack with a culinary instructor. New and exciting challenges await!
Camp sessions are June 5-8 for seventh and eighth graders and June 12-15 for ninth and tenth graders. Each session is 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. and costs $75, which includes a light breakfast, lunch and morning and afternoon snacks.
Applications will be processed beginning Monday, April 10, and will be accepted no later than Wednesday, May 10. Packets are available in the Washburn Tech main office or at www.WashburnTech.edu. Campers must select five programs of exploration and every effort will be made to schedule kids in their preferred career explorations although there are no guarantees.
