WHAT: Final showcase presentation – Middle School Transportation STEM Camp
The Washburn University Summer Transportation Science Camp for 7th and 8th grade students focusing on Science, Technology, Engineering and Math has been running for the last two weeks. The students stayed on campus in Lincoln Hall for the two-week camp and participate in daily hands-on science and math activities.
The free camp was made possible with a grant from the Kansas Department of Transportation which wants to encourage students to learn about the practical application of science in transportation.
The camp has been run by Washburn’s Department of Education and Washburn University students are acting as counselors. Washburn University faculty are teaching in each of the activities and overseeing the experiments.
