Media Advisory: Washburn University Student Group Hosts Benefit Concert – The Mental Music Scene

WHAT: The Washburn University student organization Hope through Headphones is sponsoring a special benefit concert with some great, local bands and food trucks. Admission to the concert is $12.

WHEN: Saturday, April 7, noon – 10:00 p.m.

WHERE: Reynold’s Lodge at Lake Shawnee

WHO: Washburn University students and faculty, Topeka community members

DETAILS: This is an outdoor concert. There will be tables and information about mental health illnesses and resources available inside the lodge. To Write Love On Her Arms and Hope Through Headphones will also have tables set up to talk about how you can help yourself and your community. Throughout the day, the group will have speakers from different resources around the community to continue the conversation about mental health.

Hope Through Headphones is a movement dedicated to providing mental health education and support to students using music to connect and inspire.
