WHAT: More than 1,000 third graders from Topeka Public Schools will converge on Yager Stadium at Moore Bowl on the Washburn University campus Friday, May 12. The students are participating in the annual Topeka Hy-Vee’s KidsFit event.

DETAILS: Hy-Vee KidsFit certified fitness trainer, Daira Driftmier, will lead the students in several large group exercises while teaching them about health, wellness and nutrition. During the event, students will also learn about Hy-Vee KidsFit, a website designed to help kids and families make health, exercise and nutrition priorities in their everyday lives. The KidsFit website promotes healthy lifestyles for kids and families through online video tutorials, fitness workbooks, Hy-Vee dietitian blogs and fun fitness challenges. The workouts and activities require no equipment or gym memberships, making it accessible year-round to people of all ages and skill levels.
